Riad Imam Mahmud is Country Director Max Foundation Bangladesh since 2012, and the Co-founder Managing Director of Max Social Enterprise, a spin-off piped water business, since 2019. He has led the organization to reach 3 million people, with significant impact on reduction of child stunting (from 51 to 25% between 2016-2021) through Max Foundation’s signature Healthy Village approach, the program he innovated in 2015.
He brings passion for evidence- and market-based solutions to integrated WASH-nutrition approaches for child health. With a degree in Agricultural Engineering and Master’s in International Economic Relations. He also studied Master’s in Public Health, and Water Resources Development.
Riad has 20+ years of professional experience in WASH, Nutrition and public health engineering, has worked with government bodies, donors and NGOs. He is one of the most innovative water experts in Bangladesh, developed business viable economic model of piped water supply services to allow private sector investment in a social business form.
