Profile / Bio: 

Halim is a Senior Research Assistant at United Nations University - Flores (UNU-FLORES), currently working on the sustainability of transformation processes in post-coal mining regions. Prior to joining UNU-FLORES, she worked as a researcher at the Environmental GIS/RS Laboratory in Korea University, where she researched climate change and global/regional environmental issues and collaborated in projects involving the food-water-ecosystem nexus in Central Asia. She worked at Lockton Companies Inc. in the Republic of Korea where she researched on environmental risk and provided environmental risk consulting related to environmental and socioeconomic issues to multinational stakeholders and counterparts.

She has a strong background in environmental change and sustainable development, strengthened through an internship at the United Nations Environment Programme, Switzerland. Her research interests include the Resource Nexus with a particular focus on sustainable development and environmental resources, including water, soil, and air, especially in Central Asia.
