Saimoni Veramu is the Head of Procurement at the Fiji Procurement Office, Ministry of Finance, Economy and National Planning. He has over 20 years of combined experience in the private and public sectors, with a focus on procurement, transformation projects, and logistics management.
He began his career in the private sector, working for PriceWaterhouseCoppers, British American Tobacco, and Fiji Ports Corporation Limited. During this time, he gained valuable experience in organizational dynamics, strategic planning, supply chain, and financial operations. He successfully led teams, implemented cost-effective measures, and navigated complex business challenges to achieve desired outcomes.
In December 2017, Veramu joined the Fiji Procurement Office as the Head of Procurement. In this role, he is responsible for administering all significant procurement in the Fiji Government. He has played a key role in the introduction of electronic tenders in Fiji and is now working with the Asian Development Bank to update and modernize the country's procurement laws.
