Dr. Carsten Hansen  is a Procurement and supply chain risk management professional with 20+ years of international management experience in complex global business and security environments. Dedicated to supporting organizations in future-proofing procurement operations and implementing organizational sustainability targets through innovative and cost-effective sustainable procurement strategies.

Chief of Global Procurement Services at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), responsible for managing UNDP’s global procurement services, providing direct support to 173 business units and external partners worldwide, delivering one of the largest procurement portfolios in the UN. Responsible for ESG risk management and third-party sourcing due diligence across UNDP's global procurement operations.

Visiting Research Fellow, School of Management, Centre for Strategic Procurement and Supply Management at Cranfield University (UK), with academic and practitioner publications on sustainable procurement and supply chain risk management. Areas of research cover optimization of global sourcing strategies, procurement risk management, and sustainable procurement, including ESG informed supply chain management. Other academic publications focus on political risk exposure across the offshoring service industry, informing location decisions and risk monitoring practices.
