Asem CHAKENOVA is Senior Project Officer in Kazakhstan Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank. She supports infrastructure operations, including transport in Kazakhstan. Asem is also involved in knowledge exchange and collaboration initiatives and mobilizing ADB resource assistance.
With more than 15 years of experience working in KARM ADB, Asem has been involved in all stages of the project cycle, starting from country assistance programming, loan and TA processing, and implementation. She is a team member for ADB’s road sector and urban infrastructure projects in
Kazakhstan. Prior to ADB, Asem worked in the Foreign Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan, promoting bilateral business opportunities and operations. Asem holds a graduate-diploma of the Kazakhstan State University named by Al-Farabi and a post-graduate diploma from the University of International Business (business and credit finance).
