Profile / Bio: 

Muhammad Ehsan Khan is appointed Senior Advisor, Office of the Director-General (CWOD), Central and West Asia Department (CWRD), effective upon assumption of office.

Mr. Khan is a national of Pakistan. He holds a Doctorate in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University, United States; a Master�s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wyoming, United States and a Bachelor's degree in General Agriculture from Colorado State University, United States. He has more than 29 years of professional experience, including almost 16 years in ADB. He was appointed in February 2003 as a Project Economist in the former Agriculture, Environment, and Natural Resources Division in SERD. He transferred to the Economic Analysis and Operational Support Division, ERCD in August 2006, progressed to Senior Economist in February 2007, and to Principal Economist in August 2009. He served as Senior Advisor to the President in August 2012 and was appointed Advisor, BPMSD and Head, UIC in May 2014. He was appointed as Director, BPHP in February 2017. Mr. Khan has a deep understanding of institutional issues that complements his understanding of strategic and operational concerns across the Bank. Prior to joining ADB, he was Manager, Social Sector, Rural Development and Agriculture at Halcrow Pakistan.
