Davao Bus Driver Training Technology Pilot, Procurement & Framework – Engagement Report
The City Government of Davao in the Philippines, as part of its transport roadmap, is seeking to modernize its mobility network. The ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) is working closely with the city to support their plans with the Davao Bus Driver Training Technology Pilot, Procurement & Framework Project, which complements the larger loan investment by the Asian Development Bank through the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project, or commonly referred to as the Davao High Priority Bus System (HPBS) Project.
Under the AASCTF project, appropriate training technologies will be identified to improve the skills of the prospective bus drivers, which will include former jeepney drivers, since the new bus system will require greater responsibility and adhering to stricter regulations and standards.
This engagement report documents the project activities to date; the outreach the AASCTF team has conducted with key stakeholders, vendors, and experts; the engagement done through workshops, an overview of initial findings; and the next steps of the project.
