Profile / Bio: 

Ravi is currently working as Lead Counsel (Legal & Regulatory Affairs) in the online gaming space. His responsibilities include looking after the strategic legal and policy issues affecting the company as well as broader systemic issues. He is spearheading the collaboration with stakeholders from the government and the private sector to deliver a better regulatory landscape for online gaming in India. He was earlier working with Invest India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry where he was part of the Technology, Media & Telecom team. In this role, he looked at emerging tech policy issues. He worked closely with Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Other than this, he was also working closely with the Office of Minister of Commerce & Industry to understand issues faced by businesses in India and improve ease of doing business. Before this, he worked in the area of private equity and mergers for 4 years. During this period, Ravi worked on several transactions - both domestic and cross border- across different sectors including fintech and banking. In this role, his major responsibilities included rendering general corporate advisory, drafting of investment agreements and other related contracts and assisting the senior partner in the firm to negotiate the deals.

He is a voracious reader and likes to read a wide variety of subjects. Apart from law, his interest areas are International finance, politics, geotech and political economy. Ravi also writes for multiple newspapers including Economic Times, Financial Express etc.
