Ashok Gulati is a Distinguished Professor at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). He was Chairman of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP, GoI; 2011-14); Director at the International Food Policy Research Institute (2001-11); NABARD Chair Professor at IEG (1998-2000); and Chief Economist at NCAER (1991-97).
He was the youngest member of PM's Economic Advisory Council of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee; He has been on the Board of Directors of RBI, NABARD, NCDEX, IDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Godrej Agrovet, etc.
He has 18 books to his credit in Agriculture. For his contributions to the field, the President of India honored him with the "Padma Shri" in 2015.
