Sworup Shrestha is Deputy Director at the Financial Information Unit, Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) since 2019.
He facilitates the formulation, review, and updating of FIU related policies, procedures, guidelines and circulars as per The Financial Action Task Force (on Money Laundering) (FATF) and other international standards. As Deputy Director, Sworup’s work includes domestic cooperation of FIU-Nepal related stakeholders such as Reporting Entities (REs) and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
He has held various positions at Financial Information Unit, Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank and Nepal SBI Bank Ltd., Sworup earned his MBA from the Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM).
