Patrik Jonasson manages GS1 Asia-Pacific’s regional government affairs and external cooperation, charged with defining and executing regional strategies and programmes.
Patrik is working closely with private sector and a number of Asia- Pacific Governments to further the use of standards to facilitate safety and efficiency in international trade processes across the region. He is leading GS1’s Asia-Pacific regional cooperation with APEC, ASEAN, UNESCAP, and World Customs Organisation, and has been driving the use of Global Data Standards in international trade within APEC since 2013. He is the Chair of e-Commerce at Food Industry Asia and is an expert in the United Nations Network of Experts for Paperless Trade and Transport in Asia and the Pacific (UNNExT). Before joining GS1, he was the General Manager of European Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and the first Executive Director of EU – ASEAN Business Council.
Patrik has a Master of Science in Business Administration with Japanese studies from University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and has been based in Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia during his 18 years in the Asia-Pacific region. He is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
