Profile / Bio: 

Ms. Sabra Ibrahim Noordeen currently serves as the President’s Special Envoy for Climate Change at the President’s Office of the Maldives. She was appointed in June 2021. Prior to her current role, Ms. Noordeen was the Secretary, Foreign Relations at the President’s Office from November 2018. She has enjoyed a thriving career in areas encompassing research, international relations, public policy, and political activism. Ms. Noordeen has worked in many capacities for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), especially in the coordination of national election campaigns, foreign relations, and communications. She worked as the Maldives Political and Press Officer from 2008 to 2010 at the British High Commission in Colombo, and as a Director and Intelligence Analyst at the Maldives Police Service’s Intelligence Department between 2010 and 2012.

Ms. Noordeen holds a Master’s Degree in State, Society and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University of London and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Anthropology from the University of Sussex.
