Desalination projects do not only affect marine life, they also affect the communities surrounding the project site. They have various socio-economic impacts that may negatively or positively affect the lives and livelihood of  people living near the project site. This presentation discusses these impacts and provides recommendations on how to address the possible negative effects of desalination projects to adjacent communities.
