Maria Moita is Senior Emergency and Post-Conflict Specialist in International Organization for Migration’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific based in Bangkok, covering over 30 countries. Maria supports prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery programs in countries across the region, dealing with the impacts of disaster and conflict-induced crisis, through migration and displacement lenses. She worked in large-scale humanitarian responses such as the earthquakes in Haiti and Nepal, floods in Pakistan, super typhoons in the Philippines, the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh, and the recent crisis in Myanmar and Afghanistan. Maria holds a degree in Architecture and an MA in Development Studies.
