Elma Zahir brings with her more than 10 years of extensive background in managing high-impact operational initiatives. She leads the Geo-Enabling initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS)’s engagement in South Asia as well as its Communications and Knowledge Management agenda. Before joining the GEMS team, she worked for OPCS on the Corporate Scorecard to monitor development outcomes, performance, and results of World Bank operations. She also supported the management of and led the communication efforts for the World Bank Group Results Measurement and Evidence Stream initiative. After completing her MSc from the University of Warwick, UK, Elma worked as a lecturer at the Independent University of Bangladesh, before shifting into consulting where she managed various MDB- and UN agency-funded projects.
