Mr. Craig Roberts is Senior Advisor in the Office of the Director General. As the Chief Operating Officer of Private Sector Operations he is accountable for all aspects of business and operational risk management, running a team that covers communications, Investment Committee Secretariat, change management, business analytics, performance reporting, budget, finance, people, planning and systems. In addition, he has supervisory responsibility for the direct equity investment, portfolio management and risk analytics teams. Between 2014 to 2020. Mr. Roberts headed the Portfolio Management Division that is accountable for proactively managing all private sector projects and investments throughout a transaction’s lifecycle, once a deal is executed in origination.

Mr. Roberts joined ADB in 2014 and was previously employed by The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS) for 16 years. He held multiple front office banking positions across origination, risk and portfolio management. He worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and London whilst at RBS. Prior to RBS, he worked in the UK Civil Service from 1995 to 1998.

Mr. Roberts was educated at The City of London Polytechnic and University College London and holds degrees in business and public international law. He is a Barrister, having been called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
