Dr. Wanli Fang is a Senior Investment Officer with the Infrastructure Investment Department Region 1 at the AIIB, where she manages infrastructure investment projects in Urban and Water sectors in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
She has over 15 years of experience in sustainable urban development, with a focus on urban regeneration, water supply and sanitation, eco-industrial parks, urban rail transit, flood risk management, smart cities, and municipal finance, etc. Prior to joining the AIIB, she was a Senior Urban Development Specialist at the World Bank, where she managed urban development investment projects in East Asia and Pacific Region; and an Economist at the World Resources Institute based in Washington DC, where she conducted economic analyses and policy research to support sustainable cities initiatives. Before moving to DC, she was a lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a part-time policy researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Economics from MIT, U.S.A., and an MS and a BE degree in City Planning from Peking University, P.R. China.
