Bimbika heads the gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) portfolio of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development. In this role, she supports all teams to better integrate GEDSI in their engagement with Government of Indonesia counterparts. She also leads Prospera’s policy advisory work on women’s entrepreneurship, private and public sector role in expanding quality and affordable childcare, disability inclusive social protection policies, and a multi-year partnership to monitor the social and economic effects of COVID-19. Prior to joining Prospera in 2019, Bimbika worked for seven years as a Social Scientist and Gender Coordinator at the Center for International Forestry Research, one of the 15 centers of the CGAIR, where she oversaw global research programs on the intersection between gender equality and sustainable forest governance. She holds a PhD in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), and also has substantive work experiences in Nepal and the Pacific Island countries.
