Profile / Bio: 

At ADB, Bimbika coordinates and contributes to the mainstreaming of gender in ADB operations in the Central West Asia region, focusing on Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the South Caucasus.

Before joining the ADB in January 2024, she worked as the Head of Gender and Social Inclusion at the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development (PROSPERA) for six years, a facility providing economic advisory support to  Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs. From 2013 and 2019, Bimbika was a social scientist and gender coordinator at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) in Indonesia, one of the centers of the Consortium of Global Agriculture Research Centers (CGIAR), where she supported global forest and climate programs. She has also consulted for various organizations and UN agencies in the Pacific Island Countries and taught graduate students in the UK and Nepal.

Bimbika holds a Ph.D. in Development Studies and an MSc in Environment from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from Macalester College, USA. She is a Nepali national.
