[VIDEO] Gender-Based Violence & Environmental Action: Understanding Links, Taking Action—IUCN/TNC
The climate crisis is not gender neutral. Climate change impacts—such as prolonged drought, sea level rise, natural resource degradation, and cyclones—are exacerbating conditions that drive gender-based violence (GBV), which predominantly affects women and girls. Nearly 1 in 3 women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Learn more about the links between GBV and the environment and hear directly from experts on how we can minimize and mitigate risk in this session hosted by IUCN and The Nature Conservancy.
