Gunakar Bhatta is associated with Nepal Rastra Bank as the Executive Director. He has worked at the Central Bank of Nepal for more than two decades and has played lead role on formulating monetary policy and financial sector policy. Dr. Bhatta has represented Nepal in various international forums and has also been contributing to academics and research through his research on finance, economics and development. He has also served to the Revenue Advisory Board of the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal. He is also an ex-officio member of the Securities Board of Nepal, the securities market regulator. An MBA gold medalist from Tribhuwan University, Dr. Bhatta holds a Master's degree in Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts and a Ph.D. in Economics from Wayne State University, Michigan.
