Profile / Bio: 

Prior to being a consultant she worked for 24 years, since 1994, in Santander Bank the first bank ever implement Reverse Factoring as a financial product. She remained at the Bank from the inception of the product to its international expansion to other banks and branches in different jurisdictions like UK, USA, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Hong Kong and Australia.

She decided to leave the bank and become a SCF Consultant and since then, has helped development banks, technology platforms and fintechs when developing SCF structures.  She is FCI’s SCF Consultant. FCI is an association of 400 banks and financial institutions present in 94 countries and she is helping the association in the development of SCF international cross-border schemes deplolying a unique tool in the market, FCIreverse.  She is proudly working with IFC/ World Bank and Asian Development Bank in structuring legal and prudential regulations in developing countries to facilitate SCF development. Mónica has a legal and regulatory background being part of the Legal Committee of the European Factoring Federation and is the European represenative of the Spanish Asociation in Brussels.
