CIE-ADB Knowledge Sharing Seminar: Strengthening Clinical Care and Community Services to Fight COVID-19
Taipei,China suffered seriously from SARS but learned valuable lessons for responding to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
To fight COVID-19, Taipei,China employed a strategy focused on three elements: border control; community pandemic prevention; and preservation of the clinical care system.
The strategy was shared in the Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE)-ADB Knowledge Sharing Seminar. The first part of the presentation reviewed the privatization history of Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital (KMSH) and the existing context of the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme at the outset of the pandemic. The second part will summarize the infrastructure, systems, and innovation employed in fighting COVID-19 and review the strengths and weaknesses of the KMSH PPP scheme.
