Halimah Awang

Halimah is attached to the Social Wellbeing Research Center (SWRC), Universiti Malaya as Principal Research Fellow. Her research interests cover a wide range of topics including ageing, sexual and reproductive health, social protection and disability management. She is one of the two principal investigators for Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS) Wave-1 and Wave-2, a national longitudinal study on various aspects of ageing involving adults aged 40 years and older. Halimah is also a member of the research team on the construction of an Active Ageing Index for Malaysia, and the WHO technical working group on national toolkit for monitoring healthy ageing.
