Luvuyo Buhle Mlilo obtained his master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of the Free State, South Africa. A strong advocate of community development with a particular bias towards community benefaction through sustainable environmental management initiatives and practices.
His professional interest focuses on creating partnership between the government and communities in funding, management, and sustainability of environmental conservation interventions with an objective of achieving sustainable livelihoods for the communities.
He is currently serving as a chief director, Environmental Protection and Infrastructure Programmes within the National Department of Environmental Affairs in South Africa, with his primary role being that of managing government funding of community-driven environmental management projects with a view of achieving sustainable environmental practices and livelihoods.
