Leadership and Communication Challenges for Climate Change Aspects of Development Projects

21 June 2016

Effective communication among different parties and stakeholders regarding climate change, environmental impact and mitigation issues is highlighted as one of the biggest leadership challenges in the successful execution of projects, including ADB projects. For example, environmental non-government organizations (NGOs) may have inquiries or concerns that are often difficult to address by project administrators or government officials who are typically technical or administrative experts rather than communication experts. How can these challenges be best addressed and how can they be turned into opportunities?

This session of the Knowledge Sharing Webinar Series aimed to help participants to:

  1. Appreciate the increasing need for climate change leadership in projects;
  2. Identify communication challenges, based on discussions during the 2016 Asia Leadership Program, and have greater understanding and tools on how to overcome them; and
  3. Use a discussion platform where additional communication support can be provided.
