Manas is a Co-founder and Advisor of BORDA (Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association) South Asia, where he has developed business models for public-private partnerships and investments in wastewater treatment and fecal sludge management services. He has also collaborated with EAWAG (the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Research and Technology) to study costs and policy implications of various small-scale sewage treatment technologies, conducted training programs, and worked with city and state governments on strategies to make cities more livable and sustainable, and has overseen management and operations of city-scale sanitation services.
Prior to this role, he worked with Dasra, an NGO seeking to improve urban sanitation in India, where he ran capacity building and scaling up programs for social enterprises and foundations. Meanwhile, at Avendus Capital, he helped growth companies to raise equity from global private equity investors and advised on cross-border merger and acquisition transactions. He was also previously the COO of a high-end electronics manufacturing and exports firm.
Manas is a graduate of MIT and the Sloan School of Management and is an advisor to social enterprises including Fitternity.com, Shelter Associates, Football Link, and the Yunus Corporate Action Tank.
