Profile / Bio: 

Prof. Zuo Ting is a professor in development studies and social security studies of China Agricultural University (CAU), and is also the deputy dean of the School of Public Policy and Management at CAU. He is the vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Social Assistance.

Prof. Zuo has been working in agricultural development, poverty reduction, community-based natural resource management, and rural public policies since 1989. Recently, he has completed the project “Improvement and Scaling-out of Conditional Forestry Farmer Subsidy and Public Job Policies in National Contiguous Poverty-Stricken Blocks” granted by the Action Aid International.

He is now senior advisor at the China Center for Poverty Reduction and Development at the State Council Poverty Reduction Office, acting as coordinator for experimentation of reform on poverty reduction in eastern provinces. He is also actively engaged in international development projects in the PRC as consultant for multilateral and bilateral development agencies.
