Disaster Risk Management Specialist (Resilient Infrastructure)

Profile / Bio: 

He currently works in various thematic projects regarding Disaster Risk Management for ADB. He is also part of the ADB GIS- Working group.  He is also developing a pro-ject together with the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management team financed by the Austrian Government on a Next Generation tool for Assessing Climate and Disaster Risks.  

From 2010 till March 2020 he was working for the Austrian Federal Ministry of Sus-tainability and Tourism (Directorate Water Management in Residential Areas). He was coordinating the climate change strategy and climate change adaption strategy for the Department. He is also part of the National Crisis and Disaster protection Management Team (critical infrastructure protection - water sector).   
 
From 2006 till 2010 he was a scientist at the University of Natural Resources and Ap-plied Life Sciences, Vienna, Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Con-trol. He worked on scientific projects like climate change in the water sector, Risk and Failure Management, Water Safety planning, and ground water modelling.  The pro-jects were in Ecuador, Syria, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco. During this time, he was also part of World Health Organization in the Water and Sanitation Emergency Ros-ter.   
 
He started his career as a civil engineer in Vienna for drinking water supply, storm and waste water management, and waste management in the year 2002.
 
He has a master’s degree in International Business Administration from University of Salzburg, and also a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Manage-ment from FH-Technikum Vienna. He has also an DI (MSC) in Land and Water Man-agement and Engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna.
