Aya is a Senior Manager at IDinsight, based in Manila, Philippines.
Aya supports the growth of the Manila office by seeking and cultivating new partnerships in the region. She has managed a range of monitoring and evaluation projects ranging from advisory services to clients on evaluation frameworks to leading evaluations of programs. Currently, she is managing an evaluation of a UNDP pilot to deliver cash aid for COVID-19 through digital financial services. She also managed a rapid phone survey on knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to COVID-19. Previously, she led a set of case studies in Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam, on private sector initiatives that aim to improve workplace gender equality. She also managed research on workforce development and extreme poverty in the Philippines.
Prior to joining IDinsight, Aya worked for the World Bank in Washington, DC, on investment climate policies. Aya has also led financial inclusion projects with Grameen Foundation, where she advised on poverty measurement and led the implementation of a mobile banking pilot.
Aya holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied mathematics in finance from the Ateneo de Manila University, and an MPA in economics and public policy from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
