Profile / Bio:
•One of his major contributions includes leading the digital transformation in 72 government entities to open up contracts data and promote public-led monitoring of infrastructure contracts. As part of the government's self-reliance policy, Kamawal also pioneered the introduction of electronic tendering system in Afghanistan.
•His great passion has always been to apply technology to real-world problems, data analytics and open data. At NPA, he strives to inspire the use of technology for enhanced efficiency and transparency in public spending, and to create digital trust by connecting various actors - from government, private-sector to civil societies.
•This is his firm conviction that with a strong electronic procurement system, Afghanistan can have a far better future with efficiency, transparency and accountability ruling over bureaucratic, vague and ambiguous public spending endeavors.
• He has a master in business administration (MBA); bachelor in engineering (B.E.) and holds a diploma in IT.
