Joint Workshop for e-Government and Smart City
23 to 27 May 2016

Information and communications technology (ICT) has been used holistically to bolster financial and managerial capacities of local governments and municipal service providers; manage urban traffic, and increase the competence and autonomy of urban water supply, as well as sanitation and solid waste providers.

To discuss the various means by which smart cities can be developed, World e-Governments Organization (WeGO), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the National Information Society Agency (NIA)’s Global Academy organized a joint workshop on smart cities and e-government in Jeju Island, South Korea. The event served as a venue to share good practices that highlight not only the technical aspects but also impacts on increased efficiency, accountability and more effective delivery of core government functions and services.
