Profile / Bio: 

Philip Middleton is Deputy Chairman of OMFIF, a leading international think tank specialising in Central Banking, macro-prudential regulation and fiscal policy research, where he is currently leading work on digital currencies, both fiat and commercial.

He is also a Commissioner of the Financial Services regulatory body for the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and a Director of Rifle House Capital Ltd, an advisory firm dedicated to working with central banks and governments on issues related to financial stability. A former EY partner and successively head of the Firm’s retail banking, and central banking businesses, Philip is a Senior Advisor to EY with a particular emphasis on financial services strategy.

He has enjoyed a 35 year career as a strategy consultant to governments and financial institutions worldwide, including a focus in the last decade on the issues raised for the authorities by the financial crisis. He has held senior partnership positions in leading global advisory firms and recently retired from EY where he was head of the Central Banking Practice.

Philip holds degrees in history and modern languages from Oxford University, and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD.
