Enabling Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations in India
The global electric vehicle sales are on the rise have surpassed 1 million units in 2017. As per the International Energy Agency's (IEA) estimates, there will be about 125 million EVs on the road by 2030. Proactive policy environment combined with declining battery costs and investment in setting-up charging infrastructure is driving this penetration. This presentation provides the key insights on business model and approach developed for EESL for rollout EV charging infrastructure in India. It covers pricing strategy, bulk procurement approach to reduce cost, institutional framework, feasibility assessment for selection of locations & business model for scale-up. It also provides the learnings drawn from the implementation of a pilot of 30 charging stations across the capital of India – Delhi.
