Climate finance, while it lacks an internationally agreed-upon definition, has always been an Integral part of international climate change discussions since the mid-1990s. Climate finance enables countries in the developing world manage the trade-offs between economic growth needed for poverty alleviation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
