Ms. Begum Shamsun Nahar, a Freelance Consultant as Social Scientist & Gender Expert; Mid-Term Review and Evaluation Expert; Resettlement Expert; Knowledge Development & Training Expert; as well as Lead Researcher of Social Survey (Sanitation and Socio-Economic Household Survey; Improved Cook Stoves End User Survey; Water and Sanitation Survey for Low-Income Customers Service Improvement Plan; etc.). She has more than 34 years of experience in policy analysis, project design and implementation as well as Mid-Term Review and Evaluation of Projects/Programs/NGOs. She has expertise in policy making on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), gender mainstreaming, from design through to government approval, consulting with civil society and government officials. In addition to policy formulation expertise, Ms. Nahar is skilled in: report preparation; gender analysis; institutional analysis; project planning, implementation and management, action research; monitoring and evaluation; and, training management, including planning, need assessment, design, curriculum preparation on gender and training of trainers. She has strong inter-personal and communication skill, working closely with government departments and women’s organisations on gender mainstreaming and facilitating linkages between ministerial and local government officials, NGOs, women’s organisations and development partners. She is also capable to work as Women Activist and has been leading a National level Network of 550 women organisations of Bangladesh. She used to write articles for various publications including national daily news papers.
