Li Shanshan is the Vice Country Director of ITDP China. She joined ITDP in 2009 with a master's degree in Transportation Engineering and is currently leading the ITDP office in Beijing. She has been working on urban planning and sustainable transportation projects and accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge on planning, design, and the implementation of BRT, NMT, and TOD projects. She was previously a consultant to the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank on many sustainable transportation projects in China and Asian cities. She was a project manager for the Yichang BRT and NMT projects- the Yichang BRT system opened in July 2015, and won the 2016 Sustainable Transportation Award.
Shanshan also worked intensively on sustainable transportation projects in Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Vientiane, Tianjin, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta, Johor Bahru, and many more cities in Asia.
