Remittances can be leveraged for growth and development, especially if countries can improve access to formal remittance channels and investments. To maximize their benefits, countries can enhance access to formal remittances services while bringing informal remittance flows into the formal financial system; leverage remittances to foster innovative finance and public and private investments; and improve impact of remittances by developing innovative and feasible projects.
