Series: Joint Multilateral Development Bank Pavilion Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Dedicated Windows: Lessons for Emerging Mechanisms 21 October 2026 Armenia This high-level roundtable highlighted how the governance model and lessons from the Dedicated Grant Mechanism for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities could inform dedicated funding allocations in emerging financial mechanisms, including the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, the Global Environment Facility’s Global Biodiversity Framework Fund, and the Inclusive Conservation Initiative. Co-organized and facilitated by the Climate Investment Funds, World Bank Group, African Development Bank Group, and Global Environment Facility, the session examined how inclusive governance, direct access, Indigenous leadership, outcome-based approaches, and integration could strengthen future nature and climate finance facilities. Expected outcomes included disseminating lessons from DGM governance, exploring continued engagement and knowledge sharing among partner initiatives, and recognizing core design principles for future nature funds.
