Nature Credits Country Case Study: Thailand

Thailand’s wetlands are vital for biodiversity, ecosystem services, and livelihoods but face threats from land use, pollution, and climate change. The country shows emerging viability for nature credits, supported by policies and carbon market experience, but faces gaps in governance, MRV systems, social safeguards, and demand development. A phased approach with policy reforms and pilot projects is recommended to build market readiness.
