The presentation explored the evolving role of NGOs and CSOs in environmental action in the Philippines, tracing their shift from protest-based activism to collaborative and transformative approaches. It highlighted historical phases from rights-based movements to community development, market integration, and climate-focused strategies, culminating in current priorities centered on regenerative and inclusive frameworks. The session also introduced Conservation International Philippines, its mission to protect biodiversity through partnerships with local communities and government, and initiatives in conservation finance, climate solutions, and ecosystem restoration.
