Since 2017 ADB has been working closely with BirdLife International both on the development of the Avian Sensitivity Tool for Energy Planning as well as more recently on the Regional Flyway Initiative (RFI) which has the strategic goal of developing investment projects for 50 priority wetland sites totaling US$3 billion investment for implementation beyond 2030. This ongoing relationship between ADB and BirdLife International provides a good example of how ADB can interact with a Civil Society Organization in a more collaborative and dynamic way to deliver shared outcomes between organizations.

BirdLife International CEO Martin Harper joined the session to unpick the relationship and explore the existing areas of collaboration and where he sees the continued relationship beyond the RFI in the coming years.
