Penang Smart Mobility Micro-Simulation Model Development: Full Area Model Calibration Report
This Full Area Model Calibration Report covers Stage 2 of the Penang Smart Mobility Micro-Simulation Model Development Project of the ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF). The project focuses on developing a transport micro-simulation model for the historical center of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Stage 2 of the project looks at the full study area, which includes 75 junctions within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town.
This report provides a description of the full study area, the existing traffic condition, and the provision of the surrounding transportation network and study methodology. It also presents the model parameters used in developing the Vissim model and the demand inputs used in it. Results of the model calibration and next steps of the study are also included in the report.
This AASCTF Penang project is financed by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, managed by the Asian Development Bank, and implemented by Ramboll.
