This presentation gives case studies of nature-based solutions (NbS) in Japan including disaster risk reduction and ecotourism which benefits not only the biodiversity and habitat restoration but also the local communities through livelihood opportunities. Japan’s new National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) is also discussed.
