With the expanding impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0), societies across the globe are experiencing an era of digital revolution. Digital revolution is inducing industrial restructuring and related services with increasing integration of digital technology, which in turn is transforming the demand and supply of skills to match with new and changing occupations in priority sectors. Women need to be prepared for jobs for the future. However, women are still under-represented in technology fields such as computing, digital information technology, engineering, mathematics and physics. Governments and education institutions need to make much greater efforts to redress existing gender imbalance. This session will discuss how higher education and TVET empower and prepare women to lead technology innovation and to adapt to new and emerging skills and jobs in economy.
