The Special Supplement to the Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific 2020 in September 2020, which discusses how poverty estimates can be mapped through data integration and artificial intelligence, has been widely received for its contribution to ADB’s knowledge initiatives.

Mr. Martinez took a page from that report and discussed the many practical applications and uses of Big Data and how it would greatly benefit teams working on country poverty assessments. Mr. Fengler from the World Data Lab joined him and walked us through the rudiments of using satellite imagery and associated geospatial data.
