Malaysia: Measures by the Public Sector to Support Financing for Renewables

The presentation discussed intervention measures by Government to address financing for current RE programs spanning over the feed-in tariff (FiT), net energy metering (NEM) and large scale solar (LSS). Moving forward as Malaysia plans to further decarbonize our electricity sector, SEDA has been tasked by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change to develop the Renewable Energy Transition Roadmap (RETR) 2035. Within the roadmap, recommendations to address financing for renewables which was also be shared in the presentation.
