Event: Earth Observation for Sustainable Development Webinars Slums Upgrade and Access to Basic Services 30 January 2019 Author / Speaker European Space Agency Most urban centers in developing countries have very little current/accurate data available on the location, extent and the dynamics of informal settlements. More, related information on level of service deprivation (e.g., water and sanitation access) are completely missing or they are limited to small local surveys. Satellite data can provide spatially disaggregated information with high spatial and temporal consistency, to address the gaps in information.
