PRC: Law of the People's Republic of China on Land Contract in Rural Areas

In accordance with the Constitution, this Law is enacted for the purposes of solidifyingand improving the two-tier management system that combines centralized and decentralizedmanagement on the basis of household contractual operation, maintaining the stability andpermanency of land contractual relationship in rural areas, safeguarding the legitimate rights andinterests of the parties to land contracts in rural areas, and promoting the development of agricultureand rural economy as well as the social harmony and stability in rural areas.
