Financing universal health coverage carries a high price tag - about $600 billion for sixteen countries in Asia. Developing countries in the region must increase its health investments, raise its pooled funding, and reduce out-of-pocket health expenses to meet this health financing gap. If done, these may yield invaluable benefits, such as preventing 94 million premature deaths and significantly increasing the number of health workers and facilities.
