This presentation presents a progress report on the Future Cities, Future Women Initiative (FCFWI), including challenges, opportunities, and immediate next steps.

The FCFWI is a gender-targeted initiative to identify and support key triggers that would accelerate women’s participation in urban governance and their productivity enhancement.  FCFWI focuses initially in three cities: Mandalay in Myanmar, Tblisi in Georgia, and Makassar in Indonesia.  It will be conducted in two phases:  Phase 1: Assessments, Designs, and Quick Impact Activities (January 2017-December 2018); Phase 2: Full-on Pilot Implementation and Impact Evaluation (2018-2020).
